LIPS PRE-CARE
During your procedure, you should experience only very minimal pinpoint bleeding. You can help avoid any excessive bleeding by following these pre-care instructions:
- DO NOT DRINK alcohol, coffee or caffeinated drinks for 24 hours prior to the procedure.
- DO NOT TAKE any blood thinning medications for four days before your appointment (aka: Aspirin, Niacin, Vitamin E, Ibuprofen, etc)
- PLEASE discontinue VITAMIN E/KRILL/OMEGA-3/FISH OIL for one week prior to your appointment.
- NO tanning/excessive sun exposure two weeks prior to the procedure or for two weeks after it.
- NO fillers/Botox treatments for three weeks before or four weeks after the procedure.
- DO NOT have any peels/microdermabrasion/IPL two weeks prior the procedure.
- DO NOT APPLY topical Vitamin A/ Retinol for one week prior to the procedure, and until lips are fully healed two weeks after it.

Plan around your schedule/holidays/events.
- DO NOT schedule if you have an upcoming event that could conflict with your healing. You will need between five and seven days to heal.
Expect an additional "perfecting" touch-up 6/8 weeks after the first appointment (the perfecting session is free).

COVID-19 VACCINE - make sure you won't have your vaccine two weeks BEFORE and two weeks AFTER the procedure.

PLEASE SEEK MEDICAL ATTENTION OR ASK YOUR DOCTOR BEFORE STOPPING ANY REGULAR MEDICATION.

FOR LIPS SPECIFICALLY:

- BRUSH AND FLOSS your teeth, before your appointment in order to prevent bacterial contamination.
- PLEASE EAT before the procedure. You will not feel like eating after and wait at least three hours before having any food.
- EXFOLIATE your lips often in the days leading up to the procedure to maintain a smooth texture.
- MOISTURISE often on you lips in the days prior to the procedure to maintain smooth texture.
- DRINK at least 1 litre of water per day to help hydrate your lips and skin for the two weeks before the procedure.

VERY IMPORTANT: If you have a history of cold sores you will need to start taking an anti-viral prescription (ZOVIRAX, L-LYSINE) at least two weeks BEFORE your procedure. Cold sore outbreak is often triggered by stress or trauma to the lips and skin. Therefore if you are a carrier, lip tint tattoo will likely cause an outbreak if you do not take an anti-viral medication prior. By taking the medication the day before, the day of, and the day after the procedure, also will minimise the chances for a breakout, allowing you to have the best results with your new permanent lips.
UNSURE IF YOU ARE ALLOWED TO TAKE ANTI-VIRAL MEDICATION? Please check with your GP.
Your appointment WILL be cancelled if you have a history of cold sores and do not follow these instructions. Cancellation fees will apply. This is because cold sores will affect the healing/results and can even lead to scarring. So please do not skip this step, you will be happy you didn't and have better results.

It is important to take into consideration the following factors:
Sensitivity and swelling: This is an absolutely normal part of the lip treatment. Swelling is normal and varies for everyone. It will subside within 4-8 hours. In some cases you can still feel it a bit swollen for up to 24H. Specially, if you have had lip fillers.
Colour: I will choose a colour 3 shades darker/brighter than your natural lip colour. It may not necessarily replace your favourite lipstick, but will help you feel confident and healthy. The colour will be much more intense on the day of procedure and colour may fade up to 50% to a soft translucent tone.
LIPS PRE-CARE

THE DAY OF THE TREATMENT
Clean your lips every 40 minutes for the first three hours post-treatment, using soap, water and a cotton pad. Dab gently.
After the procedure, please drink through a straw as hot drinks will burn your lips.
Even though you won't notice, your skin will be open for about three days after the treatment. Please eat carefully, making sure the food fits easily in your mouth - spicy foods are not a good idea!

THE NEXT 7 DAYS
WASH 3 TIMES a DAY: with a cotton pad, using the liquid soap and cold water. Be gentle and don't rub.
DRY: gently with a paper towel.
PROTECT: Apply the smallest amount of the balm provided with a cotton tip. Never over-apply, your lips need to breathe. You can start using a small amount 24 hours after your tattoo.
TIPS: You can take an antihistamine to reduce swelling of the lips. Also, fill a small ziplock bag with ice and water and apply to help swelling (no more than 15 minutes at a time).
After peeling is completely, use lip balm with sunscreen to preserve the colour.
